Jia Ma, Ph.D., P.E., D.WRE, is a Senior Application Engineer in Filtration with Aqua-Aerobic Systems, Inc in Rockford, Illinois. Jia has over eighteen years of experience in chemical and environmental engineering, water treatment, advanced materials science and research, product development and project management. He is versed in the Stage-Gate® process and in product development, improvement and cost out. Jia invented adsorptive filtration media, developed bio-infiltration media and investigated highly porous filtration media used in water treatment. He is specialized in media filtration, adsorption, separation, and ionic exchange. Jia is also skilled in working with cross functional groups, project costing and time estimating.

Dr. Ma is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Sigma Xi, the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), and the Chinese American Water Resources Association (CAWRA). His educational background includes a PhD in Civil & Environmental Engineering and a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from Louisiana State University; a MS in Chemical Engineering from Beijing University of Chemical Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Tianjin University. Jia is a Professional Engineer registered in the state of Florida.
