The AAWRE is accepting nominations for a Public Member to serve on the AAWRE Board of Trustees for 2022-2025.  The AAWRE Board manages the affairs of the Academy in accordance with the laws under which the Academy is organized. The Board has fiduciary, legal, and strategic responsibilities to:

  • Focus on continuous strategic planning.
  • Determine desired outcomes.
  • Develop and approve appropriate policies, rules, and operating procedures.
  • Guide operations.
  • Ensure that the Academy works toward meeting its objectives.
  • Monitor and manage the financial transactions of the Academy.

The AAWRE’s mission is to the provide excellence in leadership by elevating the professional practice of water resources engineering through advanced certification, continuing education, and ethical practice and vision is Board Certified Water Resources Engineers are global leaders serving society in advancing sustainable management of the world’s water.

AAWRE Trustees are expected to attend in-person meetings (normally in the fall and spring), help recruit new candidates for D.WRE board certification, serve on committees, prepare for and participate in monthly virtual Board meetings. It is estimated that in addition to the meetings, Trustees should devote at least 6-10 hours a month to AAWRE.
