Mr. Rahul Parab, P.E., CFM, D.WRE is currently is a Project Manager in the water resources group in Dewberry’s New York City office. He has over 14 years of professional and academic experience from planning to design and construction on various types of water related infrastructure in riverine and coastal environments. Mr. Parab has led multi-disciplinary planning and design projects for a range of clients including FEMA, USACE, New York State, New York City, and other states/ local governments. Prior to moving into New York area after superstorm Sandy, Rahul worked in Jacksonville, Florida and Vicksburg, Mississippi in various engineering capacities.

Rahul is a water resources engineer with a strong desire to give back to the community through his engineering profession. He has a B.S in Civil Engineering from the University of Mumbai, India and a Masters degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Toledo, Ohio. He is an active member of American Society of Civil Engineers, American Water Resources Association, Association of State Floodplain Managers and New York Water Environment Association.

Mr. Parab married Kirti Chemburkar in December 2007. They have two children, Neil and Sara, and as a family actively participate in giving back to community. They actively support their family school (founded by Mr. Parab’s grandfather in 1956) located in rural India that provides free education and lodging for the poor and disadvantaged students.

Rahul was inducted as a Diplomate at the AAWRE's 10th Anniversary Ceremony in Portland, Oregon in 2014 and in this feature, he shares with AAWRE on his upbringing, early career path, his current projects at Dewberry, his idea for an AAWRE event, leadership and the school his grandfather founded in India.
