The American Academy of Water Resources Engineers (AAWRE) Nominations and Elections Committee is calling for nominations for service on the AAWRE Board of Trustees for 2020-2023.

We encourage you to consider nominating yourself or a fellow Diplomate for this important role in providing oversight of the board certification process for Water Resources Engineers.

Nominations are needed from a broad range of professional sector (private industry, government, and academia) as well as providing geographic and demographic diversity.

The Board of Trustees will have one vacant seat to fill, for a 3-year term beginning October 2020.

The AAWRE Board of Trustees govern the affairs, activities, and business of the Academy in accordance with the laws under which the Academy is organized. The Board of Trustees have fiduciary and strategic responsibilities to: focus on continuous strategic planning; determine desired outcomes; develop and approve appropriate policies, rules, and operating procedures; guide operations; monitor the Academy’s work toward meeting its objectives; monitor and manage the financial transactions of the Academy; adopt positions on issues on professional practice.

The time commitment for an AAWRE Board member includes a monthly conference call as well as service on a variety of committee opportunities. Nominations deadline is September 30.

If you are interested in being considered or wish to nominate someone else, please email [email protected] with an updated Bio, Resume, or CV and a brief one-paragraph statement why you are interested in serving on the AAWRE Board of Trustees.
